Red Bay, Ala.

On Saturday morning we left Marion, Virginia and headed toward Red Bay, Ala.
Red Bay is the home of Tiffin Motor Coaches (our motor home was built there) and we are going to get warranty work done.
We have made a stop at a KOA outside Chattanooga, Tn. - we did not unhook the tow car, that way since they are calling for rain it will be easier to pull out tomorrow morning.

It is now Monday, we are in Central Time Zone. We are all settled in at the Allegro Campground. They have Wi Fi - but it was hit by lightening..... it will be a few days till it is up and running sooooo..... since we have no phone signal from Sprint I can not get on our laptop. Presently I am at the public library in Red Bay..... so till then I will be off line. We hope to get around the area and see what sites there are:)

Neighbor

Last night we had an interesting neighbor pull into our campground. If you are into motorcross you might recognize this guy:)

Columbus, Ohio

It's Sunday and we are feeling a bit warmer:) We are camped east of Columbus, Ohio, the county name is Licking! On the way here we passed the Popcorn Museum! It was closed (boo hoo!)

We visited the Newark Earthworks which is a 2,000 year old complex that at one time covered approximately four square miles. It is believed to be the largest geometric earthworks ever created. Research confirms that the earthworks enclosures served social, ceremonial, and astronomical functions for their ancient builders, the "Hopewell".

This area also is home for Longaberger Baskets. When you drive on Highway 16 you see this huge basket. The building is a replica of the company's medium market basket, but at 160 times its size. The handles are heated in the winter to keep snow and ice off the glass atrium.http://www.longaberger.com

At the Longaberger Homestead, in Dresden, you can tour the basketmaking factory and see the world's largest Apple Basket - it stands over 29" tall and filled with 14 huge 4' apples! http://www.longabergerhomestead.com

Ye Olde Mill is the home of Velvet Ice Cream - we couldn't resist! They had a small historical museum and ice cream parlor. Did you know, Central Ohio is Ohio's Ice Cream Capitol!?
