In a 'BAY' at Red Bay
Well we have gotten into a 'bay'. Now the warranty work can be done! This has been an interesting experience, and in many ways an enjoyable one. We have meet many nice folks while staying in the campground, learned a great deal about how motor homes are built and have learned a new meaning for the patience. We have been here 3 weeks.
Here are some pictures of the 'bay's' where work can be done.
There are 40 bays available. It was impressive to see everything so clean.
Here is our coach in waiting mode - we were in this particular bay for 3 days. We got to work with the same 2 technicians each day.... these guys were great! Very patient, as we were able to watch everything they did...there were a few things we even asked them to redo.... just to make sure there were no rattles.... they were extremely understanding and accommodating!
Each morning at 7 AM we would drive over to our assigned 'bay' and at about 3 PM we would drive it back to our camp site. It was amazing to see the parade of motor homes heading for the 'bays' each morning! We were happy to be part of the parade as that meant at least we were getting something done. I should mention, some of the work was actually done at our camp site earlier in our stay.
If you want, you can stay with your coach while they do the work. This is really convenient, even though they have a very nice waiting area. It helped, as we were able to point out spots that needed touch up and other aspects of the work that needed to be done. Apollo had a great time -- the front seat was a good place for him to stay so he wouldn't get stepped on:) Some of the noises got to him but all in all he was a happy camper.
One of the problems we had was a leak in the front driver side window. This was the last big fix they had to do .... we now have a window that is water proof:) Other things that had to be done were: the inverter had to changed out, the refrig/freezer dispenser board needed to be replaced, two AC ducts needed to be installed, the thermostat had to have a filter put on, wood work was touched up, the dishwasher was fixed, 3 vent overs were installed, and a few other odds and ends
This is just one area of the repair bays..... at 7 AM we would park in front of the assigned door and wait till it was opened and then drive in.
From here we will make our way back home. I wonder what the yard looks like? !!! There have been no hurricanes but I'm sure we'll have tree limbs to clean up..... hummm maybe we should just keep driving!
