Auction

Well last night I had a first time experience!
A livestock auction!

Here is the new billy goat. He was a bit scared but was greeted by 2 nanny goats! After they 'checked' each other out they settled in for the night.

We took 4 "Baby Doll Sheep" to the auction and bought a Billy Goat! This is a photo of the 2 babies. I have to admit I was sad to see the baby sheep go... at the end of the auction you pick up what you bided on and away you go. I was happy to see the sheep went to a young family who where going to use them for a 4 H project... that means they are not for meat ...(at least that's what they told me!)
I was able to sleep!

Zanesville, Ohio

Main street of America
The first interstate highway, linking the eastern seaboard with the western frontier. The Road carried people, livestock, mail and goods, speeding development and communication across the new country. Milestones were set at one-mile intervals.

The John & Annie Glenn Historic Site
John Glenn was the first American to orbit the earth on Feb. 20, 1962, he circled the earth three times in less than five hours. He was born on July 18, 1921, in Cambridge, Ohio but moved to New Concord, Ohio at the age of 2. His wife, Annie, was also from this area. John Glenn later became the state senator.

The Y - Bridge was originally constructed in 1814. The current Y - Bridge is the 5th one and was built in 1984. The first through 3rd bridges were built of wood and were either destroyed by floods or rot. In 1904 the first concrete structure was built. The bridge grabbed the attention of airplane pilots....they relied on landmarks for their bearings.... Amelia Earhart called Zanesville "the most recognizable city in the country"
