Northern Indiana

Mid-America Windmill Museum

Hoosier Air Museum

The Northern Indiana area holds lots of surprises...We took a few side trips.
The Mid-America Windmill Museum in Kendallville is a museum where they "collect, display and preserve the story of power from the beginning of the American windmill to the present wind turbine." They have all different models of mills - 46 in all!
The Hoosier Air Museum, home of the Hoosier Warbirds, in Auburn is dedicated to the preservation, education and restoration of old planes. I think it is note worthy to recognize that both of these museums are staffed, and maintained by volunteers!
Another outing was visiting Shipshewana, the third largest Amish community in the United States. There are lots of interesting sites and shops. Sorry my hands had to be empty to shop so the camera got left in the car.
I'd also like to mention the "Home of the Classics" , Auburn-Cord Duesenburger, which was the home of the Auburn Automobile Company.
