New Wheels!

We have just purchased a smaller unit it is a View/Navion by Winnebago. It is 24' long.

We have a full bath, couch, dinette and an overhead bed. This MH will be able to fit into all the State Parks. The couch area slides out to make things roomier.

Here is picture of the new motor home in the garage we just finished building. It will be nice to keep it protected in the winter months and not worry about winterizing.

Love Bugs

We arrived home to love bug season!
OH JOY!

We are going to get the hurricane shutters up, regroup and in mid June we hope to be on the road west.

Atlas has the right idea when it came to unloading and cleaning the RV.
Nap and wait for food!

Nap some more:)
and dream about the next adventure.

Clemson, South Carolina

We made a side trip to west side of South Carolina to visit some friends and see our old stomping grounds. Gary and I set up our first home in this area. He worked for Duke Power and I was teaching.

We took a hike to see Twin Falls.
This is just one of the falls in the area.

Atlas is on his first camping trip and seemed to find everything interesting!
We wound up carrying him more than he walked:)

As we walked on the path I found this tree. The roots have grown around the rock!

We drove by power plant and were able to take this photo - the trees and folage have grown so much we were not really able to get a good shot of the plant.

Charleston, South Carolina

We arrived in Charleston, South Carolina and headed for the historic section. There were horse drawn carriages, cobblestone streets, pre-revolutionary historic homes, gardens and churches. It was like stepping back into 1670!
The Citadel, Fort Sumter (where the Civil War Began) and the USS Yorktown Aircraft Carrier are in this area.

We found many lovely homes!
This one was close to Water Front Park
The art of coiled baskets dates to the 17th century. They are called sweetgrass baskets.

There really is a Bubba Gump Resturant!
No we did not see Forest:)

The homes are close together and it was very common to see small courtyards with fountains.

This is called Angel Oak. It is not very tall but very wide. It is considered to be approximately 1,500 years old! This predates Columbus by a 1,000 years!

moving squeeky toy!

Sharing is loads of fun! We never know who will win the tug of war!
